Our Story
Escape Artist Resources is the brainchild of Chris Kelly and Greg Helm. Two industry veterans who saw a better way to help manufacturers and artists combine their talents for a mutually beneficial relationship.
Chris has been an AR expert since the mid 80’s who has worked with some of the best musicians and artists in the world. He built Hoshino AR department and took Ibanez and Tama from a me-too manufacturer to one the world’s leading guitar and drum companies. Hae left AR in his prime to pursue a musical career with members with such bands 10,000 maniacs, Ministry Steve Earl, etc.... With this experience he is committed to always doing the right thing for both the artist and the manufacturer. He works as hard for the up and comer and the artist toward the end of their career as he does for the biggest star of their time. A true pioneer in the industry succeeds when others fail or worse, simply doesn’t try because he cares, he truly cares.
Greg has been a drummer since his feet could reach the pedals. His 80’s band had 7 labels looking at them. But when they didn’t get signed, he went back to college and started his professional career is sales and marketing.
Greg Helm is usually the smartest guy in the room, and maybe the most obnoxious and high stung. But you want this guy on your side because he gets it done. Not by force or manipulation but by listening to all stakeholders and developing a winning strategy for all involved. What makes him special is his ability to see what others don’t, find a way for success and makes sure everyone involves wins. Throughout his career Greg has been told “this won’t work” well that’s Greg’s “hold my beer” moment and he succeeds when others fail or worse, don’t even try. Greg is a true industry leader and innovator.
